Rental Terms & Policy

Renters must be at least 25 years old, hold a valid driver's license (issued in the U.S. or an accepted international equivalent), and provide proof of full-coverage personal auto insurance that extends to rental vehicles.

We may decline applications at our discretion, including for poor driving records or recent at-fault accidents.

A $20 non-refundable application fee is collected at submission. This fee covers identity and driving-record review and is not applied toward the rental.

We do not perform a credit check, ever. No hard or soft credit pulls are made as part of your application.

Decisions typically come back within 1–3 business days (up to 5 during busy periods).

If your application is denied, you may appeal by replying to the decision email within 14 dayswith any additional context — clean driving record, references, updated insurance, etc. We'll re-review your application at no extra cost.

Rental rates are listed per day, with discounts available for weekly and monthly bookings. Full payment for the rental is collected at or before pickup.

A refundable security deposit is collected at pickup and released within 7 business days of return, less any damages, fees, or outstanding charges.

Rentals include a daily mileage allowance (typically 200 miles/day). Additional miles are billed at $0.35/mile.

Vehicles must be returned with at least 70% charge. Returns below this threshold incur a charging fee. Supercharging costs incurred during your rental are your responsibility.

Renters must maintain personal full-coverage auto insurance for the duration of the rental. You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle, third-party damage, traffic violations, tolls, parking tickets, and citations incurred during your rental period.

Rentals cancelled more than 7 days before pickup: full refund of the rental (less the $20 application fee). 3–7 days before pickup: 50% refund. Less than 72 hours: non-refundable.

The $20 application fee is always non-refundable, regardless of cancellation timing.

Strictly no smoking, vaping, or drug use in our vehicles. Pets are allowed only with prior written approval and may incur an additional cleaning fee.

Excessive cleaning required at return is billed at $150–$350 depending on condition.

Late returns are billed at 1.5× the daily rate, prorated hourly. Vehicles returned more than 24 hours late without communication may be reported as stolen.

Voltage Rentals' liability is limited to the cost of the rental. We are not responsible for personal belongings left in the vehicle, missed connections, or consequential damages arising from vehicle issues.

This agreement is governed by the laws of the state in which the vehicle is rented.
